Bhadrachalam Temple is the abode of Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy. The Temple is located on the banks of Godavari River, Bhadrachalam, Khammam, Telangana, India.
The Temple was constructed by Kancharla Gopanna, a Local Tahsildar and fervent devotee of Lord Sri Rama in the 17th century. He is also known as Bhakta Ramadas.

It was believed that Kancharla Gopanna lived in a village called Nelakondapalli which is near Bhadrachalam. Kancharla Gopanna was said to have stayed with Seetha and Lakshmana near Parnasala during the exile period of Kancharla Gopanna.
When Kancharla Gopanna was a revenue officer of Bhadrachalam, he reconstructed the temple which was under ruins. And he was prisoned by Sultan, saying that he built the temple from the government treasury and it was believed that Lord Rama majestically gave Sultan the money which was spent by Kancharla Gopanna. Kancharla Gopanna got released and started composing and sang infinite number of songs to Lord Rama in Telugu language.
Bhadrachalam is placed by holy river Godavari which flows towards the southern direction is the famous place.
The Hill is named as Bhadragiri where the lord Sri Rama is located. According to the Puranas, the importance of shrine dates back to the Ramayana Era. During the Ramayana time, the hill was located at the place of “Dandakarnya “.
The incarnation of the temple which was showed by the history of Vykuntha Rama which was to fulfill a long desire of his ardent devotee Bhadra.

The presiding deity of Bhadrachalam Temple is Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama is seen here with four hands, holding Sangu on His right and with Chakra in His left hand and with bow and arrow in the other two hands.
Lord Vishnu was believed to be manifested in the form of Lord Rama to accomplish the promise of Lord Vishnu to His devotee Bhadra, a sage who made penance to solicit Lord Vishnu to be seated on His head.
There is a sub shrine of Goddess Lakshmi inside the temple complex of Bhadrachalam temple. Goddess Lakshmi shrine was said to be built by Kamasamudram Appalachary, the resident of the village called Thatigummi, which is located in the border of Khammam district.
The day begins at the Bhadrachalam temple with “Prabhadhotsavam” or awakening ceremony at 4.30 AM with especially composed songs of Tumu Narasimhadas, poems, Sannai Trupets Naubat etc.

The state bus service, TSRTC operates numerous buses connecting the town to various places like Kothagudem, Hyderabad, Khammam, Warangal, Basar, Tirupati, Karimnagar, Rajahmundry, Nalgonda, Chennai, Guntur, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
By Train
The nearest Railway station is Bhadrachalam (Kothagudem) which is about 40 km.

Vijayawada is the nearest airport.
