भगवद गीता अध्याय 10 : श्रीभगवान् का ऐश्वर्य
श्रीभगवानुवाच
भूय एव महाबाहो शृणु मे परमं वचः |
यत्तेSहं प्रीयमाणाय वक्ष्यामि हितकाम्यया || १ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : श्रीभगवान् ने कहा – हे महाबाहु अर्जुन! और आगे सुनो | चूँकि तुम मेरे प्रिय सखा हो, अतः मैं तुम्हारे लाभ के लिए ऐसा ज्ञान प्रदान करूँगा, जो अभि तक मेरे द्वारा बताये गये ज्ञान से श्रेष्ठ होगा |
Arjuna, my dear devotee, hear and understand these wise words (full of the highest and most divine knowledge) which I shall disclose to you, for your own good.
न मे विदु: सुरगणाः प्रभवं न महर्षयः |
अहमादिर्हि देवानां महर्षीणां च सर्वशः || २ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : न तो देवतागण मेरी उत्पत्ति या ऐश्र्वर्य को जानते हैं और न महर्षिगण ही जानते हैं, क्योंकि मैं सभी प्रकार से देवताओं और महर्षियों का भी कारणस्वरूप (उद्गम) हूँ |
Even the Deities and the greatest of wiseman do not know the secret of my birth in this world (in human form). You should understand,my dear friend, that it is from ME that all of these Deities and wisemen originate.
यो मामजमनादिं च वेत्ति लोक महेश्र्वरम् |
असम्मूढ़ः स मर्त्येषु सर्वपापै: प्रमुच्यते || ३ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : जो मुझे अजन्मा, अनादि, समस्त लोकों के स्वामी के रूप में जानता है, मनुष्यों में केवल वही मोहरहित और समस्त पापों से मुक्त होता है |
The Blessed Lord declared: He who fully understands ME (in all respects) as being without a beginning or an end,and Lord of the universe,is truly the wisest person among all men and is released from all his sins.
बुद्धिर्ज्ञानसम्मोहः क्षमा सत्यं दमः शमः |
सुखं दु:खं भवोSभावो भयं चाभयमेव च || ४ ||
अहिंसा समता तुष्टिस्तपो दानं यशोSयशः |
भवन्ति भावा भूतानां मत्त एव पृथग्विधाः || ५ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : बुद्धि, ज्ञान, संशय तथा मोह से मुक्ति, क्षमाभाव, सत्यता, इन्द्रियनिग्रह, मननिग्रह, सुख तथा दुख, जन्म, मृत्यु, भय, अभय, अहिंसा, समता, तुष्टि, तप, दान, यश तथा अपयश – जीवों के ये विविध गुण मेरे ही द्वारा उत्पन्न हैं |
The intellect, the GYAN (Supreme Knowledge), understanding, forbearance, truth, control over the mind and senses, joys, sorrows, birth, death, fear, fearlessness, non-violence, even-mindedness, contentment, austerity, charity, fame, infamy, all of these and other diverse elements that surround life in this world, arise and begin from ME, the Supreme Soul.
महर्षयः सप्त पूर्वे चत्वारो मनवस्तथा |
मद्भावा मानसा जाता येषां लोक इमाः प्रजाः || ६ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : सप्तर्षिगण तथा उनसे भी पूर्व चार अन्य महर्षि एवं सारे मनु (मानवजाति के पूर्वज) सब मेरे मन से उत्पन्न हैं और विभिन्न लोकों में निवास करने वाले सारे जीव उनसे अवतरित होते हैं |
The seven great sages (wisemen), their four elders (such as SANAK and the others) and the fourteen MANUS (the forefathers and originators of man-kind, namely SWAYAMBHU MANU and the generation that followed him), who were all my great devotees and were born out of MY will, all the beings that have evolved in the world are descendents of these devotees of mine.
एतां विभूतिं योगं च मम यो वेत्ति तत्त्वतः |
सोSविकल्पेन योगेन युज्यते नात्र संशयः || ७ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : जो मेरे इस ऐश्र्वर्य तथा योग से पूर्णतया आश्र्वस्त है, वह मेरी अनन्य भक्ति में तत्पर होता है | इसमें तनिक भी सन्देह नहीं है |
He who fully understands my Supreme Glories and the divine powers of Yoga, will undoubtedly achieve the most Supreme goal of a lifetime, and that is, to become united and enjoined with ME. To achieve this Supreme state one must take part in firm and constant meditation, having only Myself fixed in his mind at all times.
अहं सर्वस्य प्रभवो मत्तः सर्वं प्रवर्तते |
इति मत्वा भजन्ते मां बुधा भावसमन्विताः || ८ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं समस्त आध्यात्मिक तथा भौतिक जगतों का कारण हूँ, प्रत्येक वस्तु मुझ ही से उद्भूत है | जो बुद्धिमान यह भलीभाँति जानते हैं, वे मेरी प्रेमाभक्ति में लगते हैं तथा हृदय से पूरी तरह मेरी पूजा में तत्पर होते हैं
Arjuna, recognize Me as the eternal source and MAKER of all that exists in this world. It is because of ME that anything can move in this world. Those who truly know and understand this, are wise people and shall always worship ME with full faith and devotion.|
मच्चित्ता मद्गतप्राणा बोधयन्तः परस्परम् |
कथयन्तश्र्च मां नित्यं तुष्यन्ति च रमन्ति च || ९ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मेरे शुद्ध भक्तों के विचार मुझमें वास करते हैं, उनके जीवन मेरी सेवा में अर्पित रहते हैं और वे एक दूसरे को ज्ञान प्रदान करते तथा मेरे विषय में बातें करते हुए परं संतोष तथा आनन्द का अनुभव करते हैं |
Those faithful devotees, of MINE whose mind are constantly fixed on ME, enlightening each other spiritually about ME and are always talking about my divine attributes and virtues, are forever contented and delighted.
तेषां सततयुक्तानां भजतां प्रीतिपूर्वकम् |
ददामि बुद्धियोगं तं येन मामुपयान्ति ते || १० ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : जो प्रेमपूर्वक मेरी सेवा करने में निरन्तर लगे रहते हैं, उन्हें मैं ज्ञान प्रदान करता हूँ, जिसके द्वारा वे मुझ तक आ सकते हैं |
My true devotees are constantly attached to ME and worship ME with love. I bestow upon these devotees of mine, the Yoga of wisdom by which they are guided to ME, the source of Supreme bliss and eternal contentment.
तेषामेवानुकम्पार्थमहमज्ञानजं तमः |
नाशयाम्यात्मभावस्थो ज्ञानदीपेन भास्वता || ११ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं उन पर विशेष कृपा करने के हेतु उनके हृदयों में वास करते हुए ज्ञान के प्रकाशमान दीपक के द्वारा अज्ञानजन्य अंधकार को दूर करता हूँ |
“While dwelling in the hearts of my devotees, I shed MY divine grace upon them and through the light that emanates from the lamp of knowledge (GYAN), I rid them of their darkness that has evolved from their ignorance.
अर्जुन उवाच
परं ब्रह्म परं धाम पवित्रं परमं भवान् |
पुरुषं शाश्र्वतं दिव्यमादिदेवमजं विभुम् || १२ ||
आहुस्त्वामृषयः सर्वे देवर्षिर्नारदस्तथा |
असितो देवलो व्यासः स्वयं चैव ब्रवीषि मे || १३ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : अर्जुन ने कहा- आप परम भगवान्, परमधाम, परमपवित्र, परमसत्य हैं | आप नित्य, दिव्य, आदि पुरुष, अजन्मा तथा महानतम हैं | नारद, असित, देवल तथा व्यास जैसे ऋषि आपके इस सत्य की पुष्टि करते हैं और अब आप स्वयं भी मुझसे प्रकट कह रहे हैं |
Arjuna said: Dear Lord, You are the highest, the absolute the Supreme, Eternal and everlasting, the greatest purifier, the ultimate resort, Surpasser of all boundaries known to man, the origin of all Deities, the omni-present Spirit, and filled with spiritual Divinity. The greatest seers and divine sages, NARADA, ASIT, DEVAL, VYAS as well as You yourself have said all of these characteristics of You, my Lord.
सर्वमेतदृतं मन्ये यन्मां वदसि केशव |
न हि ते भगवन्व्यक्तिं विदुर्देवा न दानवाः || १४ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : हे कृष्ण! आपने मुझसे जो कुछ कहा है, उसे मैं पूर्णतया सत्य मानता हूँ | हे प्रभु! न तो देवतागण, न असुरगण ही आपके स्वरूप को समझ सकते हैं
Lord Krishna, I accept all of the Knowledge that You have bestowed upon ME as true. I have also understood, dear Lord, that your very manifestation and origin is not understood by Deities let alone demons.
स्वयमेवात्मनात्मानं वेत्थ त्वं पुरुषोत्तम |
भूतभावन भूतेश देवदेव जगत्पते || १५ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : हे परमपुरुष, हे सबके उद्गम, हे समस्त प्राणियों के स्वामी, हे देवों के देव, हे ब्रह्माण्ड के प्रभु! निस्सन्देह एकमात्र आप ही अपने को अपनी अन्तरंगाशक्ति से जानने वाले हैं |
Therefore, dear Lord, only You alone can describe to me,the divine glories through which You exist, constantly watching the whole world. Arjuna continued: O Krishna, Originator of all, Lord of all beings, Lord of all Deities, Master and Creator of the World, the FIRST among all men, you alone in this universe, truly know Yourself.
वक्तुमर्हस्यशेषेण दिव्या ह्यात्मविभूतयः |
याभिर्विभूतिभिर्लोकानिमांस्त्वं व्याप्य तिष्ठसि || १६ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : कृपा करके विस्तारपूर्वक मुझे अपने उन दैवी ऐश्र्वर्यों को बतायें, जिनके द्वारा आप इन समस्त लोकों में व्याप्त हैं |
Therefore, dear Lord, only You alone can describe to me,the divine glories through which You exist, constantly watching the whole world.
कथं विद्यामहं योगिंस्त्वां सदा परिचिन्तयन् |
केषु केषु च भावेषु चिन्त्योSसि भगवन्मया || १७ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : हे कृष्ण, हे परम योगी! मैं किस तरह आपका निरन्तर चिन्तन करूँ और आपको कैसे जानूँ? हे भगवान्! आपका स्मरण किन-किन रूपों में किया जाय?
Lord Krishna, please, fully describe to me, how I shall truly know you by constantly meditating upon you. In how many different forms can I meditate upon you to completely understand you ?
नाविस्तरेणात्मनो योगं विभूतिं च जनार्दन |
भूयः कथय तृप्तिर्हि श्रृण्वतो नास्ति मेSमृतम् || १८ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : हे जनार्दन! आप पुनः विस्तार से अपने ऐश्र्वर्य तथा योगशक्ति का वर्णन करें | मैं आपके विषय में सुनकर कभी तृप्त नहीं होता हूँ, क्योंकि जितना ही आपके विषय में सुनता हूँ, उतना ही आपके शब्द-अमृत को चखना चाहता हूँ |
Arjuna demanded further: Lord Krishna, once again, describe fully to me, your divine glories and supreme splendour. My thirst for hearing your sweet and divine words again and again, is not yet quenched.
श्री भगवानुवाच
हन्त ते कथयिष्यामि दिव्या ह्यात्मविभूतयः |
प्राधान्यतः कुरुश्रेष्ठ नास्त्यन्तो विस्तरस्य मे || १९ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : श्रीभगवान् ने कहा – हाँ, अब मैं तुमसे अपने मुख्य-मुख्य वैभवयुक्त रूपों का वर्णन करूँगा, क्योंकि हे अर्जुन! मेरा ऐश्र्वर्य असीम है |
The Blessed Lord said: You are blessed O Best of the KURUS; hence I will declare to you my Divine Glory by its chief characteristics; there is no end to details of Me.
अहमात्मा गुडाकेश सर्वभूताशयस्थितः |
अहमादिश्र्च मध्यं च भूतानामन्त एव च || २० ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : हे अर्जुन! मैं समस्त जीवों के हृदयों में स्थित परमात्मा हूँ | मैं ही समस्त जीवों का आदि, मध्य तथा अन्त हूँ |
I, O Gudakesha (the conqueror of slumber) am the soul, seated in the heart of all beings. I am the beginning the middle and also the end of all lives
आदित्यानामहं विष्णुर्ज्योतिषां रविरंश्रुमान् |
मरीचिर्मरुतामस्मि नक्षत्राणामहं शशी || २१ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं आदित्यों में विष्णु, प्रकाशों में तेजस्वी सूर्य, मरुतों में मरीचि तथा नक्षत्रों में चन्द्रमा हूँ |
Among the sons of light I am Vishnu; of radiances, the Glorious Sun. I am the lord of the winds and storms, and of the lights in the night I am the moon.
वेदानां सामवेदोSस्मि देवानामस्मि वासवः |
इन्द्रियाणां मनश्र्चास्मि भूतानामस्मि चेतना || २२ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं वेदों में सामवेद हूँ, देवों में स्वर्ग का राजा इन्द्र हूँ, इन्द्रियों में मन हूँ, तथा समस्त जीवों में जीवनशक्ति (चेतना) हूँ |
Of the Vedas I am the Veda of songs, I am Indra, the Chief of Gods I am the mind amongst the senses, and in all living beings I am the light of consciousness.
रुद्राणां शङ्करश्र्चास्मि वित्तेशो यक्षरक्षसाम् |
वसूनां पावकश्र्चास्मि मेरू: शिखरिणामहम् || २३ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं समस्त रुद्रों में शिव हूँ, यक्षों तथा राक्षसों में सम्पत्ति का देवता (कुबेर) हूँ, वसुओं में अग्नि हूँ और समस्त पर्वतों में मेरु हूँ |
I am the God of Destruction among the terrible powers and among monsters I am Vittesa (the Lord of Wealth). Of radiant spirits I am fire, and among mountains, the mountain of Gods.
पुरोधसां च मुख्यं मां विद्धि पार्थ बृहस्पतिम् |
सेनानीनामहं स्कन्दः सरसामस्मि सागरः || २४ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : हे अर्जुन! मुझे समस्त पुरोहितों में मुख्य पुरोहित ब्रहस्पति जानो | मैं ही समस्त सेनानायकों में कार्तिकेय हूँ और समस्त जलाशयों में समुद्र हूँ |
I am the divine priest, Brihaspati among the priest, and among warriers Skanda, the God of war. Of lakes I am the vast ocean.
महर्षीणां भृगुरहं गिरामस्म्येकमक्षरम् |
यज्ञानां जपयज्ञोSस्मि स्थावराणां हिमालयः || २५ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं महर्षियों में भृगु हूँ, वाणी में दिव्य ओंकार हूँ, समस्त यज्ञों में पवित्र नाम का कीर्तन (जप) तथा समस्त अचलों में हिमालय हूँ |
I am Bhrigu among great seers and of words I am OM, the word of eternity. Of prayers I am the prayer of silence; and of things that move not I am the Himalayas.
अश्र्वत्थः सर्ववृक्षाणां देवर्षीणां च नारदः |
गन्धर्वाणां चित्ररथः सिद्धानां कपिलो मुनिः || २६ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं समस्त वृक्षों में अश्र्वत्थ हूँ और देवर्षियों में नारद हूँ | मैं गन्धर्वों में चित्ररथ हूँ और सिद्ध पुरुषों में कपिल मुनि हूँ |
Of trees I am the tree of life, and of heavenly seers, Narada. Among celestial musicians I am Chitra-Ratha, and among seers of earth, Kapila.
उच्चै:श्रवसमश्रवानां विद्धि माममृतोद्भवम् |
ऐरावतं गजेन्द्राणां नराणां च नराधिपम् || २७ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : घोड़ो में मुझे उच्चैःश्रवा जानो, जो अमृत के लिए समुद्र मन्थन के समय उत्पन्न हुआ था | गजराजों में मैं ऐरावत हूँ तथा मनुष्यों में राजा हूँ |
I am the horse of Indra among horses; and of elephants, Indra’s elephant Airavat. Among men I am King of men.
आयुधानामहं वज्रं धेनुनामस्मि कामधुक् |
प्रजनश्र्चास्मि कन्दर्पः सर्पाणामस्मि वासुकिः || २८ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं हथियारों में वज्र हूँ, गायों में सुरभि, सन्तति उत्पत्ति के कारणों में प्रेम के देवता कामदेव तथा सर्पों में वासुकि हूँ |
Of weapons I am the thunderbolt, and of cows the cow of wonder. Among creators I am the creator of love, and among serpents the serpent of Eternity.
अनन्तश्र्चास्मि नागानां वरुणो यादसामहम् |
पितृणामर्यमा चास्मि यमः संयमतामहम् || २९ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : अनेक फणों वाले नागों में मैं अनन्त हूँ और जलचरों में वरुणदेव हूँ | मैं पितरों में अर्यमा हूँ तथा नियमों के निर्वाहकों में मैं मृत्युराज यम हूँ |
Among the snakes of mystery I am Ananta, and of those born in waters I am Varuna, their Lord. Of the spirits of the fathers am Aryaman, and I am Yama, the ruler of death.
प्रह्लादश्र्चास्मि दैत्यानां कालः कलयतामहम् |
मृगाणां च मृगेन्द्रोSहं वैनतेयश्र्च पक्षिणाम् || ३० ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : दैत्यों में मैं भक्तराज प्रह्लाद हूँ, दमन करने वालों में काल हूँ, पशुओं में सिंह हूँ, तथा पक्षियों में गरुड़ हूँ |
Of demons I am Prahlada their prince, and of all things I am the measure of time. Of beasts I am the king of beasts, and beasts and birds I am Vainateya who carries a god.
पवनः पवतामस्मि रामः शस्त्रभृतामहम् |
झषाणां मकरश्र्चास्मि स्त्रोतसामस्मि जाह्नवी || ३१ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : समस्त पवित्र करने वालों में मैं वायु हूँ, शस्त्रधारियों में राम, मछलियों में मगर तथा नदियों में गंगा हूँ |
I am the wind among things of purification, and among warriors I am Rama, the hero supreme. Of fishes in the sea I am Makara, the wonderful and among all rivers the holy Ganges.
सर्गाणामादिरन्तश्र्च मध्यं चैवाहमर्जुन |
अध्यात्मविद्या विद्यानां वादः प्रवदतामहम् || ३२ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : हे अर्जुन! मैं समस्त सृष्टियों का आदि, मध्य और अन्त हूँ | मैं समस्त विद्याओं में अध्यात्म विद्या हूँ और तर्कशास्त्रियों में मैं निर्णायक सत्य हूँ |
I am the beginning and the middle and the end of all that is. Of all knowledge I am the knowledge of the Soul. Of the many paths of reason I am the one that leads to Truth.
अक्षराणामकारोSस्मि द्वन्द्वः सामासिकस्य च |
अहमेवाक्षयः कालो धाताहं विश्र्वतोमुखः || ३३ ||
अक्षराणामकारोSस्मि द्वन्द्वः सामासिकस्य च |
अहमेवाक्षयः कालो धाताहं विश्र्वतोमुखः || ३३ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : क्षरों में मैं अकार हूँ और समासों में द्वन्द्व समास हूँ | मैं शाश्र्वत काल भी हूँ और स्त्रष्टाओं में ब्रह्मा हूँ |
Of sounds I am the first sound ‘A’. Of compounds I am coordination. I am time, never ending time. I am the Creator who sees all.
मृत्यु: सर्वहरश्र्चाहमुद्भवश्र्च भविष्यताम् |
कीर्तिः श्रीर्वाक्च नारीणां स्मृतिर्मेधा धृतिः क्षमा || ३४ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं सर्वभक्षी मृत्यु हूँ और मैं ही आगे होने वालों को उत्पन्न करने वाला हूँ | स्त्रियों में मैं कीर्ति, श्री, वाक्, स्मृति, मेधा, धृति तथा क्षमा हूँ |
I am death that carries off all things, and I am the source of things to come. Of feminine nouns I am Fame and Prosperity; speech, Memory and Intelligence, Constancy and Forgiveness.
बृहत्साम तथा साम्नां गायत्री छन्दसामहम् |
मासानां मार्गशीर्षोSहमृतूनां कुसुमाकरः || ३५ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं सामवेद के गीतों में बृहत्साम हूँ और छन्दों में गायत्री हूँ | समस्त महीनों में मैं मार्गशीर्ष (अगहन) तथा समस्त ऋतुओं में फूल खिलने वाली वसन्त रितु हूँ |
I am the Brihat song of all songs in the Vedas. I am the Gayatri of all measures in Verse. Of months I am the first of the year, and of all the seasons the season of blossoms.
द्यूतं छलयतामस्मि तेजस्तेजस्विनामहम् |
जयोSस्मि व्यवसायोSस्मि सत्त्वं सत्त्ववतामहम् || ३६ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं छलियों में जुआ हूँ और तेजस्वियों में तेज हूँ | मैं विजय हूँ, साहस हूँ और बलवानों का बल हूँ |
I am the cleverness in the gambler’s dice. I am the beauty of all things beautiful. I am victory and the struggle for victory. I am the goodness of those who are good.
वृष्णीनां वासुदेवोSस्मि पाण्डवानां धनञ्जयः |
मुनीनामप्यहं व्यासः कवीनामुशना कविः || ३७ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : मैं वृष्णिवंशियों में वासुदेव और पाण्डवों में अर्जुन हूँ | मैं समस्त मुनियों में व्यास तथा महान विचारकों में उशना हूँ |
Of all the children of Vrishni I am Krishna; and of the sons of Pandu I am Arjuna, Among seers in silence I am Vyasa; and among poets the poet Usana.
दण्डो दमयतामस्मि नीतिरस्मि जिगीषताम् |
मौनं चैवास्मि गुह्यानां ज्ञानं ज्ञानवतामहम् || ३८ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : अराजकता को दमन करने वाले समस्त साधनों में मैं दण्ड हूँ और जो विजय के आकांक्षी हैं उनकी मैं नीति हूँ | रहस्यों में मैं मौन हूँ और बुद्धिमानों में ज्ञान हूँ |
I am the sceptre of rulers of men; and I am the wise policy of those who seeks victory. I am the silence of hidden mysteries, and I am the knowledge of those who know.
यच्चापि सर्वभूतानां बीजं तदहमर्जुन |
न तदस्ति विना यत्स्यान्मया भूतं चराचरम् || ३९ ||
गीता श्लोक का अर्थ हिंदी में : यही नहीं, हे अर्जुन! मैं समस्त सृष्टि का जनक बीज हूँ | ऐसा चार तथा अचर कोई भी प्राणी नहीं है, जो मेरे बिना रह सके |
Arjuna, know that I am the seed of all things that are, and that no being that moves or moves not can ever be without Me.
नान्तोSस्ति मम दिव्यानां विभूतीनां परन्तप |
एष तूद्देशतः प्रोक्तो विभूतेर्विस्तरो मया || ४० ||
