❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is Moon Sign (Rashi) calculated from Name?

The Vedic zodiac is divided into 27 Nakshatras, each containing 4 quarters (Padas), creating 108 sacred syllables (Namakshars). Nine Padas form one Zodiac Sign (Rashi). When the first sound of a name matches a syllable in the 108 Namakshar table, its precise Nakshatra, Pada, and Moon Sign are established.

What if Naam Rashi differs from Birth Chart Rashi?

If accurate birth time, date, and place are available, the Moon Sign (Janma Rashi) calculated from the birth horoscope is supreme and authoritative. Naam Rashi is traditionally used when birth details are unknown or for popular social name vibration.

How many minutes are there in 1 Ghati and 1 Muhurat?

1 Ghati equals exactly 24 minutes (and contains 60 Palas of 24 seconds each). 1 Muhurat equals 2 Ghatis (48 minutes). A full 24-hour Vedic day-and-night cycle (Ahoratra) comprises exactly 60 Ghatis or 30 Muhurats.

Why is Lahiri Ayanamsha the standard across India?

Ayanamsha is the longitudinal angle between the Western Tropical (Sayana) zodiac and the Vedic Sidereal (Nirayana) zodiac (~24°13’ in 2026). The Calendar Reform Committee headed by Meghnad Saha and N.C. Lahiri established the Chitrapaksha Ayanamsha as the official standard adopted by the Government of India and the Rastriya Panchang.

Can anyone wear a 5-Mukhi Rudraksha without horoscope consultation?

Yes. According to Shiva Purana, the 5-Mukhi Rudraksha (governed by Kalagni Rudra / Jupiter) is universally benevolent, safe, and beneficial for all human beings irrespective of gender, age, or zodiac sign. It promotes mental peace, healthy circulation, and spiritual well-being.
